Do They Know?

I Luv U

The Poltergeist Tap
2012 has been a difficult year for the band. The band have been both in demand as session musicians and as artists in their own right! The single Poltergeist Rap was the first single released specifically for the Autumn season and was part of what is now known as the Seasonal Sessions.
This track was originally penned for Anthony McCann but the artist never added his vocals to the track. The band felt the track was too good to be unfinished so completed the vocals and Master of the track for general release.

There was no specific album for this track to end up on as the bands forthcoming album - Above & Beyond was not targeted for this or the other Seasonal session tracks. The band said that these tracks were one-off works and that they should stand up on their own.

2013 promises to be focusing on the new album and the band and less on the collaborations which dominated the last 2 years.

Rj Samuels said
if we knew that the last 2 years were going to be anything like this, we would have thought long and hard about forming the band in the first place.

, Clare McCallan and Jorge Angel Botoca Barea.

The band have also completed 2 videos for the singles and a third for the next single I Luv U!

The band are also involved in a new project called #thefestival13 planned for next autumn in the Netherlands. This will be in association with #rjsamuelsmusic and #5thavenue_music. More details will follow as soon as they are announced

New Age Connection

In the light of new music and diversity we have agreed to work with Venezuelan, New Age, musician and writer Jorge Angel Botoca Barea. The agreement came out of the blue with Jorge looking for Management and our production company looking for a different king of musical challenge.

Even though Jorge is not represented at this time, his music is a subtle balance between New Age and Symphonic and I feel it will not be long before his music is licensed. His arrangements are crisp and clever. He intimated his keenness to work with Ellis Manhattan via Rj Samuels Management.

We would love the opportunity to take Jorge out of his comfort zone and encourage him to think about his work visually and how it may transfer to film or video. We are very excited about the collaboration and see some interesting work coming forward over the next months. We wish Jorge the best of luck and a prosperous association with the company.

New PolJam-x Featuring Adina track

PolJam-x are in the studio recording a Dance track for Jazz artist Adina Even-Zohar. After an initial Skype conversation, it was clear that both sides wanted this collaboration.

Adina wanted to show her writing skills and PolJam-x wanted to show off their arranging and musicianship. Rj Samuels will not have the opportunity to produce the track, but that does not appear to be a deal breaker on this particular project.

When the track will be released is not sure, but  Adina does not seem to be in any hurry with regards to the end product. If the last album was anything to go by, don't plan on getting this track before 2013. The last album took 2 years from start to finish.

It promises to be an interesting track if the PolJam-x boys weave their funky magic on Adina's silky vocals.

Sing LaLa to be sing with PolJam-x

The new track, 'I Luv U' has a guest vocal. When the song was originally penned, it was supposed to be a PolJam-x song. A conversation with German vocalist, Sing GaLa, soon changed that. POLJAM Records already promised the vocalist a song last year. The singer politely reminded us that we had a song for her and it was just after the rhythm track had been completed that Sing asked us about her song. We felt the song would really suit her vocal style and quickly agreed that the track was hers.

New Production

The new PolJam-x track has a pop oriented feel about it. Rj was back in the studio last night remixing the track.

New website coming soon

Rj Samuels is working on a new personal website. He is reported to be using Adobe Muse (code name) to construct the site. He said,

"I want to use a platform that is easy to use, functional and does not involve heaps of programing. It will be a Beta site where I can work on projects and other collaborations and still share the content"
